This week, we took a step back from the technical side to focus on our core principles. We believe that values are the foundation of any great product, and we wanted to ensure that every feature of CALMZÂ aligns with what we stand for.
Through our research, three main values emerged:
Discretion 🤫
After "getting inside the minds" of today’s teens, one thing became very clear: the need for social acceptance. Teens don't want to stand out for the wrong reasons, and they definitely don't want a device that announces to the world that they are struggling or need help. That’s why discretion is our top priority. We are committed to making sure CALMZ feels like a natural part of their life, giving them help without making them "stand out in the crowd."

Security 🧷
We want our teens to feel safe, secure, and never vulnerable. Especially in high-stress moments of conflict, CALMZ needs to be a "safe space." Our goal is to provide a sense of reliability and protection, so they know they have a tool they can trust when things get difficult.
Personal Development 🏋🏼‍♀️
Finally, we don't want CALMZ to be a permanent crutch. Our ultimate goal is to teach teenagers the skills and mechanisms they need to grow. We want our product to help them build healthy habits so that, eventually, they develop the emotional strength to navigate life without needing the bracelet at all. It’s about empowering them to develop skills that last a lifetime.
💻 The CS Corner: Making it Shine ✨

What’s up, guys? We’re back with your new favorite segment! This week, we continued our journey into the exciting world of Arduino, and we really made it SHINE.
We experimented with sound, learning how to connect and control different sound waves. We also dove into the world of light, exploring the differences between various light waves and how they interact. One of the coolest aspects was working with Infrared lighting, which enables remote control for day-to-day equipment and machinery. Seeing how we can use code to interact with the physical world is a huge step toward making CALMZ a reality!
What’s Next?
With our core values locked in and our technical skills growing, we are officially moving forward with our initial Proof of Concept. We have some exciting weeks ahead, stay tuned!
Wish us luck! 🤞
